Trapped Light

Trapped Light is an installation and an analysis of the materiality of paint and the object of the canvas seen with light shining through. Questioning the idea of the front and back of a piece, as the viewer walks around the standing structure they quickly realize that the side of the piece that is brightly lit is not the front but the back. Against the light one can see the thickness of the material and this may emulate the feeling of being inside the exhibition wall looking out.
